WK1 Lab work

5 things I learned about the Sandbox folder structure:


1.Bin32 and Bin64 folders contains the editor for 32bit and 64bit PCs as well as the game files.
2.The editor folder stored all the files for the editors and the items.
3.Game folder is quite important. Inside the folder, all the .pak files contains the whole game.
4.System.cfg is important. If wnat to add comment, don't add into the system.cfg file, create another file and call user.cfg.
5.Imported textures and models are stored at Game folder.


10 tips and tricks related to the Sandbox User Interface

1.On the top left of the viewpot, right click can change the mode of perspective to other modes, or press F3.
2.The two numbers on the top right of the viewpot indicates the resolution which is running the viewpot, can be change by right click.
3.The Hide filtered allows you to isolate the object which contains the name you typed.
4.The X,Y,Z values on the bottom of viewpot indicates the correspoding position of selected object.
5.Change the speed value can slower and faster the moving camera angle.
6.The icon next to the speed on the bottom right of the viewpot can stop you go into the terrain.
7.Press Shift and G allow the AI goes into the game. F1 change the perspevtive of AI. F3 holds the AI at a certain position.
8.Goto Position allows you go to a certain position without moving camera.
9. Roller bar contains most staff which allows you to edit the terrian.
10.Many useful modifiers are on top of the viewpot.


 5 ways to customize Sandbox editor setup

1.Drag windows on top of each other and organise them into one window.
2.Windows can be drag and attach to the top, bottom, left and right.
3.Tools bars can be turn on and off.
4.Customize setup window can simply setup the editor wanted at one time.
5.Background colours of windows can be change in preference window.


3 different ways of moving around the level

1.Press w, going forward; S going backward; D going right and A going left.
2.Right chlick and hold will allow the canmera angle moving around.
3.Can use mouse wheel to move forward and backward.


 5 shortcuts or buttons

1. Control+G is a short cut to open up the panel which shows all the object in your level.
2. Shift + space hide/show the entity/object name and property.
3. F10 is to start recording and F11 is to stop recording.
4. Click DB at the tool bar opens up database.
5. In rollar bar, can insert vegetations, entities and other stuff.
